The warm weather provided the perfect opportunity for Year 2 to take their learning outside. As part of their new PSHE unit, Changing Me, the children began by exploring life cycles in nature, discussing how living things grow and change over time. They then reflected on their own personal journeys, thinking about how they have changed since they were younger – both in the things they can do and how they feel.

To deepen their understanding, the children were asked to choose an older person who is special to them – this could be a grandparent, a family friend, or anyone they admire – and create a drawing of that person. It was a meaningful activity that encouraged thoughtful conversations about ageing, growth, and relationships. Learning in the fresh air added an extra layer of enjoyment and helped bring the topic to life in a memorable and engaging way.
